My specialization lies in the fields of ultracold atomic gases, in particular atom optics and Bose-Einstein condensation. Most recent projects concern such topics as macroscopic quantum coherence and Josephson Effect in Bose-Einstein condensates, solitons, irreversibility and symmetry breaking, strongly correlated multicomponent quantum systems, Mott-insulator — superfluid transitions, Monte-Carlo simulations. I have also done research in nonlinear physics, specifically in the fields of quasi-crystals, fractals, 1/f noise, cellular automata, chaos and nonlinear dynamics.
